NSWCCC Australian football SELECTIONS 

Trial for individual nominations from CCC affiliated schools

AGE

15 years or under as at the 31st December in the year of competition. ( DOB must be in 2004 or 2005)

ELIGIBILITY

Students must be enrolled in a CSSS affiliated school.

WHAT TO BRING

  • Appropriate gear for game conditions
  • Mouthguard is compulsory
  • Medication eg Asthma inhaler
  • Strapping tape
  • Jumpers will be provided for the game
  • Water Bottle
  • Lunch

FORMAT

8.00 am

Selectors Meeting in the Clubrooms.

8.30 am 

All students must report for registration at the table near the canteen

Students will be in either team A, B, C, D or E. A football jersey will be provided. The position the student will be playing in Period 1 can be seen on the field map.

Each student will play a maximum of four 15 minute playing periods. There will be either a 5 minute or 10 minute changeover before each playing period. This changeover will include re-hydration, positional changes, coaching advice.

Selectors will continually meet and confer during these 5 or 10 minutes breaks.

First Game

If there are 60-72 registrations, 4 teams will created.  A, B, C, D.  

If there are more than 72 registrations, a 5th team will be created.

Important Player Information

There are 5 playing regions on the field (FB, HB, C, HF or FF). Each student will get to play four out of a possible 5 different regions. Find  your  name  from one of the attached team lists. This is where you  will play your first game.

Refer to the table below:

The first row is the position where you will play in the first game. Once you find your position follow down the column for game 2, 3 and 4.

Example, look at column 1. First game you play on the FB (Full Back) line. Game 2 you then play on the C (Centre) line. Game 3 you play on the FF (Full Forward) line and Game 4 you play on the HB (Half Back) line.

If your name is alongside the words Ruck or Rover then your coach will assist you in trying out other positions on the day.
