7.30am - 3.00pm

Course Officials:  Meeting with Chief Course Manager at 7.45am

Other Officials:  Sign on in Hinxman room where you will be allocated your role for the day and the appropriate person to report by 7.45am

Team Managers:  Collect all paperwork in Hinxman room between 6:45 - 7:15am

OFFICIALS AND TEAM MANAGER PARKING

Officials and Team Managers can go through the Gate A entrance and proceed through the tunnel.  Please ensure the parking permit is clearly displayed on their dash so that the Parking Security Officers can clearly identify them. This can be found in Staff Documents on the website.

1. Entry Eligibility

Students must be enrolled in a CSSS affiliated school

Entry to be on a Diocesan/Association basis only.  Diocesan/Associations may enter up to six (6) runners in each event.  Additional competitors will only be permitted under exceptional circumstances at the Executive’s discretion. These entries must be submitted by the closing date 

2. Divisions

The Championships shall be conducted over the following distances:-

12 Years- BOYS 3000m and GIRLS 3000m

13 Years- BOYS 3000m and GIRLS 3000m

14 Years- BOYS 4000m and GIRLS 4000m

15 Years- BOYS 4000m and GIRLS 4000m

16 Years- BOYS 6000m and GIRLS 4000m

17 Years- BOYS 6000m and GIRLS 4000m

18+ Years- BOYS 8000m and GIRLS 6000m

Athletes in a Multi Class event - BOYS 3000m and GIRLS 3000m

3.Age

COMPETITORS MUST COMPETE IN THEIR OWN AGE GROUP i.e.  The age they turn in this calendar year 

4.Competitor Numbers

Competitors must have their ATHLETE number clearly displayed on the front of team shirt/singlet

5.Footwear

All competitors must wear shoes.  Spikes are NOT permitted.  This track is not conducive to the wearing of spikes.

6.Individual Medals 

The first three individual placegetters shall receive medals

7.Team Medals

All team members of first, placed SECONDARY teams shall receive medals.  Team medals for Secondary will be given to the Diocesan/Association Representatives for distribution at the conclusion of the Championships.  The lowest cumulative score from their timings of the first five (5) runners will determine each Diocesan/Association team placing.  Where less than five (5) runners finish, a team is not eligible for medals

8. Athletes in a Multi Class event

9.Selection of NSWCCC Team

The first ten (10) placegetters from each event will qualify to compete at the NSW All Schools Championships to be held on Friday 27th July 2018 at Sydney Motorsport Eastern Creek.  These competitors will be progressed via the NSWCCC website into the team.  NSWCCC Team Managers will meet with competitors and have sample uniforms available for sizing in the Hinxman Room,

10.Selection for School Sport Australia Cross Country Championships

SECONDARY students can not compete at the School Sport Australia Cross Country Championships if they turn 20 years or older in the year of competition

SECONDARY Male and Female Teams are selected to compete at the ASSC/AA Championships as follows:-

12/13 years up to the fastest 7 times from the 12 and 13 years age divisions

14/15 years up to the fastest 8 times from the 14 and 15 years age divisions

16/17 years up to the fastest 8 times from the 16 and 17 years age divisions

18/19 years up to the fastest 7 times from the 18+ years age division

From the NSW All Schools Cross Country Championships, a NSW All Schools Cross Country Team will be selected.  To be eligible for selection a competitor must compete at this event.

An athlete who does not compete at NSW All Schools Championships may only be included in the team if he/she is competing at a National or International Track and Field/Cross Country/Triathlon/Mountain Running as part of a recognised ANSW or AA Team at the time of selection and has given prior notice to the Selection Panel requesting consideration.  This notification must be made to the NSWCCC Executive Officer prior to the NSWCCC Selections.

Additional competitors will not be permitted

11.Spectators and coaches

Spectators and Coaches are not allowed to run alongside a competitor at any time

12.Protests

All protests must be lodged in writing to the Carnival Organiser from the Team Manager within ten (10) minutes of the conclusion of the event

13.Protest Committee

Protest Committee to consist of Cross Country Course Manager, NSWCCC Cross Country Convener plus one NSWCCC Executive Member

14. Prohibited Equipment

Students are not permitted to run with phones or earphones
