Golf Sport Specific Information

There will no NSWCCC Trials in 2017

Students from Catholic Schools have 2 options.

1.     Boys on 6 and Girls on 20 handicap or less MUST play in the NSW All Schools Championships (see below) regardless of age.

2.     Any student aged 15 and under (as at 31st December in the year of competition) is eligible to play in the Jack Newton Shield at Forster Golf           Club – no handicap limit.

NSWCCC TEAM SELECTION

Any NSWCCC player who places in the leading 20 boys or 20 girls at the All Schools Championships (of all players) will be selected in the NSWCCC Team which will attend the NSW All Schools Trials at Newcastle during the last week of term 2. Players outside the top 20 may be invited by the CHS convenor.

Should less than 4 NSWCCC players place in the top 20 the 4 highest placed players will be chosen to represent NSWCCC.

A team of 6 Boys and 6 Girls (from CCC, CHS and CIS) will be selected at these trials to represent NSW All Schools at the SSA Championships in Adelaide.

Players in the NSW All Schools team must be 17 or under at the 31st December in the year of competition.

Wednesday 3rd May 2017 - Taree Golf Club, 121 Wingham Road Taree

Matchplay Championships

Thursday 4th - Friday 5th May 2017

HANDICAP LIMITS

Boys   Limit is 6
Students 15 and under may enter with a Handicap of 7- 40 and play in the JNJGF event held in conjunction at nearby courses. 
 
Girls   Limit is 20
Students 15 and under may enter with a handicap of 21 - 45 and play in the JNJGF event held in conjunction at nearby courses.

BOYS ON 6 OR LESS AND GIRLS ON 20 OR LESS MUST PLAY IN THE ALL SCHOOLS CHAMPIONSHIPS

FORM OF PLAY

The Championships shall be 36 holes Strokeplay for boys and girls

All play shall be in accordance with the Rules of Golf, Published Local Rules of the Host Club and conditions of play as specified.

All play will be from blue tees (boys only) and red tees (girls only)

The committee will choose two boys and two girls to represent NSWCCC at the NSW All Schools Matchplay Championships based on performance at the Championships, handicap and matchplay record. Selected players must be 17 or under as at the 31st December in the year of competition.

The All Schools Matchplay Championships will be held on the Thursday and Friday following the NSW All Schools Championships. The event is knockout format with 7.00 am hit-off for morning matches.

The NSWCCC Strokeplay Championships will be held in conjunction with the NSW All Schools Championships at Tuncurry/Taree Golf Course

what to wear

Dress regulations of the host club apply at all times.  Collared shirts to be worn – no board shorts, thongs or singlets.  Metal spikes are not allowed.

GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Players will not be permitted to ride on any motorised transport
  • The Standard New South Wales Golf Association for State Events will apply
  • Players to be responsible for their own transport, accommodation and meals
  • No Caddies are permitted
  •  A BBQ will operate at the Tuncurry(Strokeplay) and a bistro at Taree.
  • No late entries will be accepted 
  • All Rangefinders/GPS devices that don't use slope are allowed at all events.
