The NSWCPS Kookaburra 8s Hockey Gala day

entries are open.

An opportunity to bring a grade or a stage along to complete a component of the PDH & PE outcomes

No hockey experience necessary.

Hockey skills sessions followe by games.

INFORMATION FOR STAFF

This is a School Based Competition.

Registrations need to be completed by the authorised School Personnel through the CSSS website.

HOCKEY NSW will provide modified sticks & balls for all players

Umpires & assistance with coaching provided

EXTRA : FREE coaching clinic for all participants from 9am

RULES

Hockey experience is not necessary.

Max 12 Min 8 players per team

Mixed teams of 8

2 Divisions - Junior Years 3 & 4, Open Years 3 - 6

Half field, modified goals, no goalkeeper, 25 minute games, no experience necessary

Students in Years 3 - 6

Matches of 25 minutes with no break

8 field players - no goalkeeper

2 players must stay in the attacking half of the field at all times. If this is breached, a 1 on 1 shoot out is awarded to non offending team. This can be any 2 players regardless of playing position.

Normal rules pertaining to feet rule inside both attacking and defending circles.

Long corners to be played from halfway in line with where the ball went over the baseline.

5 metre circle free hit must be run or hit 5 metres before entering the circle.

No tomahawk hits allowed, only reverse edge pass with stick flat and hands apart.

All players to provide their own shin pads and mouth guards.
